Do you really know how competent you are? In this latest podcast of the cognitive bias series, I cover two types of opposed behaviour: The Dunning Kruger Effect and the Impostor Syndrome. Both deal with our inability to identify our real competence with the competence we think we have. At Dunning Kruger, we think we are better than we are. On the other hand, impostor syndrome is the opposite: we have the perception that we are less competent or worse than we are. Sometimes we tend t believe that the Impostor Syndrome is more "noble" behaviour than the Dunning Kruger effect. However, we must be aware that these two biases are equally detrimental to decision making and the success of work. I remember that this episode and all previous ones are available on Spotify, iTunes, Soundcloud and you can also download them for free at ricardo-vargas.com. There are over 460 podcast available and all average 5 minutes in length. I hope it is helpful. I wish you all a wonderful week ahead. https://ricardo-vargas.com/podcasts/cognitive-bias-the-dunning- kruger-effect-and-impostor-syndrome-part-3-of-3/
