Hello, I came across this article from CNA and felt it was worth highlighting: “The way Singapore Airlines handled SQ321 turbulence crisis is a lesson for other carriers.” The incident involving SQ321 was tragic and deeply unsettling—severe turbulence over Myanmar resulted in numerous injuries and one fatality. For any traveler or airline professional, it’s a sobering reminder of the unpredictability of air travel. What stood out, though, was how Singapore Airlines responded—swiftly, transparently, and with care. From in-flight crew actions to the coordinated support on the ground, the airline's handling has been widely praised as a model for effective crisis management. This is exactly the kind of real-world scenario I explore in my “Troubled Projects” course: how to respond decisively under pressure, lead through uncertainty, and bring clarity to chaos. Whether in aviation or project delivery, the principles of crisis leadership, empathy, and fast, structured action are universal: https://ricardo-vargas.com/courses/assessment-and-recovery-of-troubled-projects/ In a moment of crisis, preparedness is only as strong as execution. And in this case, SIA showed what it means to lead with humanity, professionalism, and urgency. 📎 Read the full article: https://www.channelnewsasia.com/commentary/singapore-airlines-sia-sq321-turbulence-crisis-response-death-injuries-4361101 As passengers, as industry peers, and as people, there’s a lot to reflect on here.
