“Why does PMI keep updating its thinking if projects haven’t fundamentally changed?” 🤔 I get this question a lot, especially with the release of the PMBOK®️ Guide – 8th Edition. The answer, in my view, is simple: Projects may not have changed as much as the environment in which we deliver them has. 🌍 Every few years, PMI revisits its thinking, not because the fundamentals of project work suddenly become obsolete, but because the context changes. The way organisations create value changes. Technology changes. Teams and ways of working evolve. Uncertainty increases. Stakeholder expectations shift. And the complexity of the environments in which projects operate continues to grow. A project still needs clarity of purpose, people, planning, decision-making, risk awareness, stakeholder engagement and the ability to deliver outcomes. But how we apply those principles needs to evolve with the context. 🔄 The projects may be familiar. The environment is not. And project thinking needs to keep adapting. 🚀 Ricardo #ProjectManagement #PMBOK #PMI #ProjectLeadership #ProjectProfessionals FutureOfWork
