Last Friday, I happily shared a new certificate I got from Microsoft and LinkedIn about Generative AI. I was thrilled with the feedback I received, but it raised a relevant question: Why People Got Surprised When I Shared My Certificate? Why does a gesture like that by someone over 50 and with a consolidated career cause so much surprise and impact? Why is it not the opposite? Why not be surprised when seasoned project managers stop in time and do not challenge themselves to learn new tools and trends that will bring their projects to the next level? This is the topic of this week’s #5minpodcast, Learning is a life skill. If you do not update yourself by learning new tools, techniques, trends, etc., you risk immediate irrelevance when facing an extremely fast-paced, evolving business environment. This is so obvious, isn’t it? Why do people still think that learning works until you get a good job and it is over. No need to learn anything else. Sometimes this is even more evident when people reach very senior positions. They tend to believe they know everything, and their track record is a proxy for that. Past success does not mean future success. We must keep learning and growing, regardless of age, seniority in the organization, or even if our cv is already full of accomplishments.
