My latest podcast episode is live, and it covers Google’s latest AI endeavor,#gemini. It was introduced last week as a breakthrough advancement in AI, including a native multimodal environment, allowing people to write, talk, draw, and get answers live. One of its demo videos was so impactful that it instantly got millions of views, including me 🤯 (see the video here - https://youtu.be/UIZAiXYceBI?si=FDCCrScYXQQDr5wy). It was shocking! However, one day later, Bloomberg released an article where Google admitted that the video was edited, or as some experts said, “fabricated.” The demo was incredibly edited to suggest that Gemini is far more capable than it is. The question in my mind goes back to last week’s episode: What is reality? Why did Google do that? Of course, everyone can speculate on the reasons. What I can say is that the shot backfired. Is it a real advancement or just one more promotion? Anyway, the hype is significant, but the trend is here. I can easily see a board meeting being recorded and commented on by AI live, a camera onsite, providing instantaneous project updates or risks being evaluated as the project team creates them.
