We are all devastated by the recent floods in southern Brazil, with hundreds of thousands losing their homes, many people missing, and a chaotic scenario unfolding. Over the past few days, I have received numerous messages asking for my opinion and advice based on my experience with troubled projects and crises. In it, I share three pieces of advice for the local authorities, police forces, and volunteers involved in this dramatic effort.
