Dear PM Colleagues Last night I received the sad news of the passing of my dear project management friend Luis Seabra Coelho. I will never forget how I met him almost 17 years ago in Malta. We both started talking to each other in English... After about 10 minutes of talking, we noticed that we both spoke Portuguese :) On that day, a casual conversation became a great friendship and an extremely high consideration for each other professionally. He was one of the architects of the Project Management Institute in Portugal. Seabra was also a role model volunteer. One of the remarkable moments of our collaboration was an interview I did for him in 2011 about a project management career and profession. We both looked much younger at the time. On a personal side, the connection became unique. I moved to Portugal, we both loved food and wine, and he became a key advisor for me during my initial years in Portuguese gastronomy and wines. We were both also fans of Monty Python and Portuguese fado. He was responsible for taking my wife and I to a fado concert in the Alfama mountains in Lisbon for the first time (I found the video I recorded him on that day) ❤️ It was unique. Luis was always smiling, with his unique mustache (that he found perfectly portraited in one of Van der Heist masterpieces in Rijksmuseum Museum in Amsterdam when we met for the PMI EMEA Congress 2009). It is sad to see him leaving us too early, especially on the exact day of his 53rd birthday. I tried to call him a couple of times yesterday, and nobody answered, and I then left a message... Nobody is ready for when this happens. The only thing we really must understand is that his legacy lives on. It does not only live on in his children but also in all of us. I still have some bottles of the wine he bought for me in 2018... and these bottles will be kept with me to celebrate life, joy, and friendship. They are the same ones he opened to celebrate when I finished my Ph.D. (such a wonderful photo) Rest in peace, my dear Luis Seabra. My deep condolences to your loved ones. ❤️ Ricardo.
