Hi everyone, Continuing our conversation about the upcoming PMBOK 8th Edition, I wanted to address something I hear all the time: “Ricardo, there are 40 different processes… do I need to memorize all of them?” And the answer is no! Absolutely not. Once you take a closer look, you’ll notice that many of these processes follow a very similar logic. This becomes especially clear in the planning phase. Nearly half of all processes live there, and the structure is almost identical across domains. The first process of scope is Plan Scope Management, the first process of schedule is Plan Schedule Management, then Plan Financial Management, Plan Resource Management, Plan Communications Management, Plan Stakeholder Engagement… and so on. These aren’t 40 disconnected concepts. They’re patterns. They’re repetitions with different domain focus areas. When you shift from trying to memorize names to understanding the logic behind them, the whole framework becomes far more intuitive 😊 If you want, you can listen to the full episode of my #5minpodcast about this, here: https://ricardo-vargas.com/podcasts/dont-memorize-the-pmbok-guide-8th-edition-understand-it/ A new video about the PMBOK 8th Edition is also coming very soon 👀 Stay tunned!
