Hello Everybody This week's episode of my #5minpodcast is now available and covers the concept of Squads. The modern use of the term "Squad" in project management can be traced back to a military concept in which a multidisciplinary team acts independently to complete a series of missions. This idea of a cross-functional and autonomous team became the core support of agile models that originated in software development and has since been extended to many other types of projects. I recently did a webinar to discuss the case studies in my new book: Project Management Next Generation. The beverage company Ambev used squads to respond to the #covid19 crisis, and Hospital Albert Einstein used squads to build new health facilities at lightning speed. These are just some of the cases of using agility concepts in non-software development environments. I also discuss in the podcast what moves a squad from good to great (paraphrasing Jim Collins here 😃). You will see how bonding, communication, and teamwork become critical to driving the squad's performance to a new level. I hope you find the podcast helpful. Have a great week ahead.
