I couldn't let watching a little scared when during #COP21 speeches, world leaders offered promises for the year 2070 for the year 2100. I keep imagining that 2 years ago, practically nobody could predict the size of the impact of #covid19 in the world, and now they can predict behavior that will happen in 80 years. But this podcast is not about climate change :) I use this analogy to say that in many capital projects, the time horizon is so long that it is very, very difficult to make a minimally reliable estimate since our perception of time fails a lot when dealing with distant events. Não pude deixar de assistir um tanto quanto assustado quando durante discursos da #COP21, líderes mundiais ofereceram promessas para o ano 2070, para o ano 2100. Eu fico imaginando que 2 anos atrás praticamente ninguém conseguia prever o tamanho do impacto do #covid19 no mundo e agora conseguem prever um comportamento que vai acontecer em 80 anos. Mas esse podcast não é sobre mudanças climáticas :) Eu uso essa analogia para falar que em muitos projetos de capital, o horizonte de tempo é tão grande que fica muito, mas muito difícil mesmo, se fazer uma estimativa minimamente confiável, uma vez que a nossa percepção de tempo falha muito quando tratamos de eventos distantes.
