Hello! ☀️ Today, on the #5minpodcast, I’m talking about a simple idea that becomes incredibly important when we are under pressure: before removing something, understand why it exists. Imagine a road in the middle of the countryside. Across the road, there is a fence. It doesn’t seem to make any sense. No animals nearby. No house. No signs. Someone walks by and says: “Look, this fence is useless. Let’s take it down.” But someone wiser responds: “If you don’t know what it’s for, I won’t let you remove it. First, go and find out why it’s there.” Then we can talk. That idea became known as the Chatterstone Fence. And I think it has never been more relevant for those of us working in projects. Because today, everyone wants to simplify. And with crazy deadlines, AI, automation, and constant pressure to move faster, it is very easy to remove something simply because we don’t immediately see its purpose.
