Hello Everyone This week's episode of the #5minpodcast is now live. The topic this time is #exponential growth and its impacts on our projects. The idea of this episode came from the workshop I attended last year at the Global Peter Drucker Forum with Ed Catmull and Hal Gregersen. The topic was "Navigating Exponential Growth." If we see today some of the behaviour of social networks when a post you shared is reshared by one shared by two, then four, and, suddenly, your content became viral and has reached millions. The problem is that we often rely on intuition to make a future prediction, imagining a linear trend. However, we live in an era of turbulent, volatile, and transformational scenarios where one small change can trigger another, and, in a cascade effect, you will end up with an avalanche of changes. I am very much in favour of using your intuition. Still, intuition supported by data, trends, leading indications, and numbers will make your understanding much more reliable. Se vemos hoje um pouco do comportamento das redes sociais quando um post que você compartilhou é compartilhado novamente por um, depois por dois, depois por quatro e, de repente, seu conteúdo se tornou viral e chegou a milhões. O problema é que muitas vezes confiamos na intuição para fazer uma previsão futura, imaginando uma de tendência linear. No entanto, vivemos em uma era de cenários turbulentos, voláteis e transformacionais, onde uma pequena mudança pode desencadear outra e, em um efeito cascata, você termina com uma avalanche de mudanças. Claro que eu sou a favor de usar sua intuição. Mas eu acredito que a intuição, suportada por dados, tendências, indicadores e números, torna seu entendimento muito mais confiável para se decidir.
