Today I received my printed copy of my new book: Project Management Next Generation: The Pillars for Organizational Excellence, published by Wiley globally. For me, this book has a very special significance. To get my feet wet in project management in the mid-1990s, I turned to Harold Kerzner's Project Management: A Systems Approach to Planning, Scheduling, and Controlling. I had never heard of networking scheduling, learning curve principles, or many other things connected to soft skills until reading Prof. Kerzner's book. Finally, after nearly twenty-five years, fate stepped in to provide me a chance to collaborate with Prof. Kerzner on a book's publication. The recognition is a tremendous blessing. 🙏 My dear friend and fellow Project Management Institute Board member Al Zeitoun was the connecting link that made it all possible. I can't find the right words to thank Al Zeitoun and Prof. Dr. Harold Kerzner for working together. I also like how hard everyone on Wiley's team worked to make this happen. For more than a year, the three of us worked together to compile a wide range of real-world cases from companies and governments worldwide. These cases cover topics like the effect of technology on project management, the management of humanitarian efforts, the rise of new types of leadership, and the creation of adaptive frameworks, among others. Knowing that project management is taking a center-stage as the discipline to transform ideas into actual results, I hope the book provides the insights to improve your project management practices and, in the end, help your organization and society to achieve better results.
