Hi Everybody⠀ ⠀ Imagine if we had the power to control everything. Imagine if you could control the weather, the behaviour of your suppliers, the Stock market, the coronavirus, among several other things. This would be an incredible power, would it not? ⠀ ⠀ However, the reality is brutal. When we wake up from this dream, what we can conclude is that most things are out of our control. And this is a stressful reality. ⠀ ⠀ This week I reflect on a “virtual coffee” I had with my fellow colleagues at Project Management Institute and my dear friend Brantlee Underhill. It was one of the most inspiring moments for me during the quarantine. ⠀ ⠀ When you do not have control, your strength comes from accepting your lack of control, from your ability to react, quickly adapt, and your ability to learn to transform the unknown into known.⠀ ⠀ Many people may ask me why I decided to record an episode about this topic. I am an Engineer. I am not a psychologist…⠀ ⠀ The true reality is that there is an intrinsic relationship between mental health, personal wellbeing and work results. It is impossible to get results that benefit society, organizations and teams with mentally ill professionals. Just think about the mental health of the health workers fighting coronavirus globally. Try to put yourself on their shoes and get results by saving people’s lives.⠀ ⠀ This is what I want to talk about on this episode of my 5Min podcast.⠀ ⠀ I hope it can contribute to increasing your awareness of how important mental wellbeing is to results.⠀ ⠀ Have a beautiful and enjoyable week.⠀ ⠀ Ricardo⠀ https://ricardo-vargas.com/podcasts/stop-worrying-about-things-you-cannot-control/
