Hi Everyone, Recently, in my newsletter and my latest podcast episode, I discussed the future of the project manager’s work. I came across this excellent Gartner article on AI’s impact on jobs, which strongly reinforces a discussion I’ve been having about the future of project management. 🚀 Gartner argues that we’re not heading toward a jobs apocalypse but rather job chaos. As AI adoption accelerates, the biggest change won’t be job elimination; it will be the transformation of millions of roles and the ripple effects across organizations, educational institutions, and the way we see work. This makes a lot of sense if we analyze it with the three future scenarios for project management I explored last week. Whether project managers become AI-augmented decision-makers, orchestrators of AI agents, or see traditional PM responsibilities largely automated, the real question is no longer “Will AI replace project managers?” but “How will AI reshape the role of managing projects?” Both perspectives point to the same conclusion and to a point that I am trying to highlight in every single post I make about AI: the future belongs to professionals who adapt, develop new capabilities, and learn to create value using AI.
